Coffee, Kayaks, and Chasing Waterfalls in Sparta, TN

This past weekend’s roads led me to Sparta, TN—and honestly, what could be better than seeing a waterfall from both the top and the bottom? Burgess Falls was the perfect adventure.

The hike through Burgess Falls State Park took me past two beautiful waterfalls before reaching the grand finale at the top of the main falls. The trail itself was scenic and full of great photo spots.

After the hike, we made our way to downtown Sparta for a much-needed caffeine stop at The Coffee Collective. Their cold brew was exactly the pick-me-up we needed before heading out for the next part of the adventure.

From there, we joined Cumberland Kayak for a four-mile (round trip) paddle that led to the base of Burgess Falls. The view from the below was incredible—and yes, we couldn’t resist swimming right up to the base. The water was chilly, but it was the best kind of cool down before paddling back.
